Kallahalli Sri Venkataramana


Kallahalli temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara/Srinivasa/Venkataramana just 3 kms from Kanakapura also main Tourist attraction.


Main Gopuram


Kallahalli village and the temple are set in a scenic surrounding with lush green fields ,hills, streams and ponds. The view of cultivated lands with coconut palms jutting out in the backdrop of a hilly range is very pleasing indeed.

Legend informs us that about dates 800 years ago, the paleygar in-charge of the place had a dream in which he was told to remove the Lord's statue from the bottom of a pond in the vicinity and consecrate it in the village. Accordingly the idol was found and while carrying it, the fulcrum of the cart broke at this place and it was felt to be the most appropriate site for construction the temple.

Some philanthropists have done yeomen service to uplift the temple and develop the place as a tourist destination. A choultry and a guest house have also come up here to cater to the needs of pilgrims and visitors.
