Birth Place:
Gauribidanur
He
is said to be the avatara of "Shri Galava Rushigalu". He
belongs to Koundinya gotra, Shashtika Vamsha’s Tangedi family. His
original place was Varavani village in the banks of river north
pinakini in Gauribiddanur taluk of Kolar District.
One of his
ancestors Shri Tangedi Acharya was very famous vidvamsa who defeated
adwaithis and installed one Jayastambha near Devarayana Durga.
His
Poorvashrama’s relatives are still living in Varavani and
Doddaballapur.

Deepika” is the direct commentary on "Brahma Sutra Bhashya"
of Jagadguru Shri Madhwacharyaru

One
of the very pontiffs in Shri Vyasaraja Matha (Sosale) MahaSamsthana,
who entered sanyasa directly from Brahmacharyashrama after Shri
Vyasarajaru.
Place
where he wrote his books :– Kalmanmandapam, (in
Bhavani,
Erode, Tamil Nadu) where his image is carved on a pillar.
Shri
Bhashyadeepikacharyaru :– His name is actually Shri Jagannatha
Theertharu. But he is always referred as Shri Bhashyadeepikacharyaru
as he has composed the great book titled Bhashya Deepika. He studied
under Shri Sheshachandrikacharyaru for nearly 30 years.
Swimming
with the Devara Pettige (God’s Box) :– Once some Turushka
Sainikaas attacked him. In order to prevent them from touching the
Devara Pettige, he swam in Kaveri River for nearly 20 Kms and saved
himself and the Devara pettige
Saved by Lord Narasimha
Devaru :– In another occasion, some sainiks attacked, he prayed
Lord Narasimha Devaru, who in turn appeared in a Mango Tree and saved
him. This he has mentioned in his Bhashyadeepika
Grantha.
