Lord Sri Anjaneya or Hanuman is stamping his foot on Shani Bhagavan and this is one of the Rarest postures Sri Hanuman gives.

Legend: During the time of Sri Rama - Ravana war, Hanuman flew to get the Sanjeevini herbal to save Lakshmana. All the nine Navagrahas were under the control of Ravana and were present as the nine foot steps in the Ravana’s palace, So, Ravana, sent Shani bhagavan to catch hold of Hanuman to stop bringing the Sanjeevini herbal. Hanuman, while bringing the whole Sanjeevini mountain, was stopped by Shani bhagavan and said that he was sent by Ravana to stop him. Hanuman got angry and chanting the Rama Nama, put the entire mountain on Shani bhagavan’s head. Unable to bear the pain, Shani bhagavan cried and Hanuman took off the mountain and stamped Shani bhagvan with one of his legs. Finally, Shani bhagvan apologized and pleaded to set him free. Hanuman ordered that he should not clutch any of his devotees who chant the great Sri Rama Nama and not even his sight should fall on them. Shani bhagvan agreed and finally got freed up.

Sri Anjaneya Temple - Entrance During the time of Sri Rama - Ravana war, with the arrow, Lakshmana was made anesthetic and all stood in silence without knowing what to do. At that time, the bear (Jambhava) said that with the help of Sanjeevini herbal, his anesthetic could be cured and sent Hanuman to get that. Getting the grace from Sri Rama, Hanuman flew to get the Sanjeevini herbal. On seeing this sage Sukrachariya the Kula guru of Ravana, thought if Hanuman would get the Sanjeevini, then Lakshmanan and all the other Vanara Sena in the troop will regain their lost power and so he thought Hanuman must be stopped.

                                                           Benefits of Lighting Deepa

He sent Shani, one among the Navagrahas to catch hold of Hanuman, so that he could not get the Sanjeevini herbal. Hanuman after a long search finally got the Sanjeevini herbal and took the entire mountain instead of taking some herbals. While returning, he was stopped by Shani and said that he was sent by Ravana to stop him. On hearing this, Hanuman was very angry on the act of Ravana and chanting the great Rama Nama, Hanuman stamped Shani with one of his legs. Finally with lots of efforts, Shani apologized that he has come wrongly to catch him and asked him to set him free. During that time, on seeing the state of Shani, Hanuman left Shani and ordered that he should not catch any of the Devotees who chant the great Sri Rama Nama and who worship him. Not even this, even the sight of Shani should not fall on them. As asked by Hanuman, Shani gave the promise what Hanuman asked for and finally, Hanuman freed Shani. And, then Hanuman came along with the Sanjeevini and Lakshmana and all got their energies and power and had the victory over Ravana.
